A Playday is an opportunity for you to have a day tailored to suit your needs. Playdays are for one or two students maximum and are held at The Eynsham Soap Company Workshop in Oxfordshire (this is not the same venue as our Residential courses). You can spend the whole day with us (usually 10am to 4pm) or just an afternoon on one of our new Playaway courses… see below for more details.
Students choose beforehand which items they wish to learn to make (please note cold processed soap making is a full day course with no time for making other products as well). By far the most popular Playdays are for making balms and moisturisers where each student takes home full course notes, recipes and list of suppliers of raw ingredients as well as three or four toiletry items (e.g. herbal balm, body cream, moisturiser, sugar scrub etc…).
The course can be tailored to suit, especially if two students know each other already and have agreed a common interest.
The Playdays are held on weekdays only (Tues, Wed or Thurs). Lunch (sandwiches/salad and dessert) and refreshments are provided and included in the cost.
The course is held at The Eynsham Soap Company Workshop, 11 Evans Close, Eynsham OX29 4QY. The tutor is Jane Le Galloudec - professional soap maker and founder of The Eynsham Soap Company. Please note that we have three cats, a small dog and 4 chickens… if you are allergic to animals or have animal phobias (the dog will be with us in the workshop… though usually sleeping) then this may not be the course for you!

Playaway afternoons:
Playaway Soap: For those who already know how to make soap this is an opportunity to pick our brains, see a batch of 48 bars being made as well as get hands on with making a small batch of soap yourself (5 bars). Choose from fragrance oils or essential oils, work with honey or goat milk… or try out that recipe that you just havent got around to.
Playaway Face masks and Body Butters: explore different types of ingredients. Play with supervision, make a unique combination of ingredients suited to your skin type, take home recipes and ready to use products….
Playaway Creams: Whether its cream cleansers, cream hair conditioner or a facial moisturising cream… you pick your recipe, choose ingredients to suit your skin type and then go for it… with supervision. Take home your creation and loads of recipes.
Playaways run from 2pm to 4:30pm on a weekday (phone to book a convenient date) at The Eynsham Soap Company workshop in Oxfordshire and are just for you or you and a friend (maximum 2 people).
